LC EMA Emergency Preparedness Fair

Are you prepared for hazards and threats that could seriously impact your daily life and survival? Do you know what hazards or threats you should be prepared for? If you answered no to either one of these questions, we’ve got you covered!

Lincoln County EMA is excited to announce our Emergency Preparedness Fair! Thanks to the Central Lincoln County YMCA we are able to host the fair centrally in Lincoln County at their beautiful new facility.

We encourage everyone; residents, visitors, government officials, and business owners to attend this family friendly event. It’s extremely important for people to be prepared for all hazards that could affect their lives and survival. In the event of an emergency the cavalry won’t be coming to help right away, people should be prepared to sustain themselves, their businesses, families, and neighbors for at least seven days. Being prepared also means knowing how to react during an emergency.

Thankfully, Maine does not typically have extreme severe weather and when we do, we usually fair pretty well. But weather isn’t the only hazard that we could face, for example; a long term power outage of 2 – 3 weeks or more, imagine being without power for that long, a cyber-attack that could affect the financial sector, and perhaps the ability to communicate due to the loss of internet and cell phone service, or even a wildfire just to name a few. Are you and your family and friends prepared for these types of events? Do you know what you should do to prepare for these events? This fair will provide tips and help you learn how you can #GetPrepared if one of these events occurs.

Our goal is to foster a culture of preparedness in Lincoln County, at home, work, and school.
