MAINE PTAC – YOUR GATEWAY TO GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS
The Maine Procurement Technical Assistance Center (Maine PTAC) helps Maine businesses sell to the government: Federal, State and Local, either directly or as subcontractors.
The government market is large and growing. The federal government alone is the largest consumer of supplies and services in the world! With small business goals, no other market provides more potential opportunity for small business than federal contracting.
If you want to make selling to the government a part of your overall business marketing plan, Maine PTAC's professional staff can assist you and give you the technical tools you need to get started.
Maine PTAC is part of a nationwide network of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers, or PTACs. This statewide program is hosted by Eastern Maine Development Corporation. We work with Maine-based companies that are interested in selling their products and/or services to local, state or federal government agencies, either as prime contractors or subcontractors. Maine PTAC's experienced counselors provide a wide range of counseling services to assist Maine PTAC clients.
How Can MPTAC Help Lincoln County Businesses?
Selling to the government may be intimidating at first. Maine PTAC's trained staff are here to guide you through the government purchasing process and assist you in becoming a qualified government contractor. We will work with you to identify appropriate federal, state and local agencies and develop targeted marketing strategies. We will visit your facility, evaluate your prime and subcontract opportunities, and provide technical assistance from bid preparation to post award contract administration.
Bid Match Services
Active clients can receive our Bid Match service for a nominal fee. Bid Match automatically notifies you of opportunities that match your company's products or services. These procurement opportunities are drawn from Federal Agencies, the State of Maine and Maine municipalities as well as other states and major cities. Bid Match can also search Canadian, European and other foreign trade opportunities.

The Federal GSA – General Services Administration
GSA establishes government-wide contracts with businesses to provide government access to over 6.8 million commercial supplies and services. Maine PTAC provides assistance with the process required to become a GSA Schedule contractor. We will research the potential market, identify the appropriate solicitation, and assist you on the proposal submission.
Maine PTAC can usually supply information on past government purchases for products and services, including National Stock Numbered (NSN) parts. We can also assist you with researching military specs and standards.
Maine PTAC can help you navigate federal programs intended to help small businesses market their products and services to federal agencies and large prime contractors.
