Stream Crossing Grants

Stream Crossing Workshops

Pre-recorded Online Workshop
As an alternative to in-person workshops this summer, DEP (with assistance from Army Corps of Engineers Maine Project Office, Maine Audubon, and MaineDOT) created this online workshop to cover important topics related to obtaining a municipal stream crossing grant. We highly recommend this online workshop for anyone applying or thinking of applying for a grant. Directed any questions to John Maclaine via email at john.maclaine@maine.gov.

Below you will find a list of all currently-available workshops related to road stream crossings. While some of these workshops may be specifically intended for prospective applicants for municipal stream crossing grants, you can also find other technical and regulatory trainings that may be of interest to anyone involved in the design, maintenance, or installation of stream crossing structures.

2020 Stream Crossing Grant Applications

The Department of Environmental Protection is excited to announce the 2020 open application period for Stream Crossing Grant proposals. Proposed projects must be located on municipal roads and involve upgrades of stream crossings to improve public safety and minimize flooding, improve habitat for fish and wildlife, and represent a cost effective and efficient investment.

Starting September 1, 2020, the Department will make application materials available for prospective applicants, with submissions due on November 16, 2020. Eligible project applicants include local governments, municipal conservation commissions, soil and water conservation districts, and private nonprofit organizations.

The RFP, Application, Question & Answer Summary, and other information related to the previous round of grants can be obtained at the following website: https://www.maine.gov/dafs/bbm/procurementservices/vendors/grants. We are committed to ensuring improvements are made for each round of grants, and materials found on this page represent previous application materials that may differ from any upcoming grant submission requirements.
