Coastal Planning Workshop

Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission's Coastal Planning Workshop is Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 6 pm in our office in Wiscasset.

This is an excellent opportunity for local officials and residents to discuss coastal issues in your communities, hear about what's going on today and in the recent past in the County, and offer feedback and input into coastal issues and projects to pursue in the future.

Each year the Planning Commission receives funds from NOAA and the Maine Coastal Program for technical assistance, coastal planning studies, and for grant-writing assistance to towns for project funding to address coastal issues. For example, we've conducted a county-wide sea level rise impact study and assisted with funding and administration of wastewater treatment plant flood protection studies, flood impact studies for downtown Damariscotta and Boothbay Harbor, and numerous other planning efforts.

We welcome input prior to preparation of the 2019 work plan (goes into effect July 1, 2018). NOAA and the Maine Coastal program will be represented at the workshop: you'll hear about their goals and programs and they'll be looking for input into how their efforts can enhance LCRPC coastal planning

Time: 6 pm
Location: LCRPC Office, 297 Bath Road, Wiscasset
