Route 129/130 Multimodal Corridor Management Plan Meeting

The Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission and the Maine Department of Transportation are pleased to invite you to join us on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 6:00 PM at the Bristol Town Hall for the first public meeting to begin discussion on the development of a multimodal corridor management plan for Routes 129 and 130 in the towns of Damariscotta, Bristol and South Bristol.

A multimodal corridor management plan is an integrated approach to coordinating the various transportation modes and their interconnections comprising a corridor that generally follows a pre-determined highway route and areas adjacent to the route. The purpose of the plan is to coordinate and provide safe and efficient access for all transportation system users along the corridor and also for those passing through it. It also looks at current zoning and land use patterns and offers recommendations to provide safe and efficient traffic flow throughout the corridor into the future. All jurisdictions and transportation modes and needs are addressed, including bicyclists, pedestrians, motor vehicles and other modes where applicable. The plan considers both current and future conditions regarding transportation needs and the interdependence of land use and transportation services.

Public attendance and feedback will allow planners to create a document identifying needs and encompassing feasible cost-effective solutions. Stakeholders along the Route 129/130 corridor have a unique opportunity to identify current issues, express their visions and help mold the future of their communities. The Maine Department of Transportation and the participating municipalities will use the corridor management plan as a template in their development of future improvements in each community.

The Bristol Town Hall is located at

1268 Bristol Road (Route 130) in Bristol.

We hope you will attend the meeting on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 6:00 PM to participate in forging a vision of the future in your communities. If you have any questions, please contact Harold Spetla at (207) 882-5986. We look forward to seeing you at the meeting.
